A Bit About Spade
Spade is a sweet, thoughtful girl who likes to take a moment to understand new situations before fully jumping in. At the start of her evaluation, she was aware of her surroundings and a little unsure, but it didn’t take long for her curiosity to win over. Once she found the tester, her tail began wagging and she willingly chose to engage, showing that she builds confidence through connection with her person.

One of Spade’s biggest strengths is how eager she is to work with her human. While she occasionally looked to the tester for reassurance when faced with something unfamiliar, she never shut down or avoided the challenge. Instead, she trusted the guidance she was given, worked through obstacles one step at a time, and stayed focused on accomplishing the task. That willingness to learn and accept direction is a wonderful quality for future training.

As the evaluation continued, Spade relaxed more and more, allowing her playful, affectionate personality to shine through. She has a moderate energy level with a calm, thoughtful demeanor and enjoys staying close to her person. Rather than being bold for the sake of being bold, she’s the type of puppy who gains confidence through positive experiences and quickly blossoms once she knows she’s safe.
Best Fit for Spade
Spade would do wonderfully in a family looking for a loyal companion that enjoys working alongside her people. She’d thrive with owners who use positive reinforcement and enjoy building their puppy’s confidence through training and new experiences. She would make an excellent family dog for someone who appreciates a puppy that naturally checks in, seeks guidance, and forms a close bond with her humans.
May Not be the Best Fit for Spade
Spade may not be the ideal choice for someone wanting a puppy that’s instantly fearless and completely independent in every new situation. While she is absolutely willing to try new things, she prefers having a trusted person to lean on at first. Given a little encouragement and consistency, her confidence continues to grow, making her a wonderful companion for families who enjoy helping their puppy develop into their very best self.
