A Bit About Hedge
Hedge is a sweet, affectionate girl who immediately seeks out people. She greeted the tester with a happy wagging tail, eagerly crawling into their lap and soaking up attention. While she showed a little curiosity toward toys, people were clearly her priority. She has a naturally affectionate personality and forms connections quickly, making her the type of puppy that genuinely enjoys being close to her family.

Although Hedge is confident overall, she has a thoughtful approach to new challenges. She showed a little hesitation when asked to navigate unfamiliar obstacles, but with gentle encouragement and the reassurance of her handler, she worked through each one successfully. She trusts her people and is willing to follow their guidance, and her confidence noticeably grew as the evaluation progressed. Rather than avoiding new experiences, she simply likes a moment to process before jumping in.

One of Hedge’s sweetest qualities is how completely she relaxes into affection. She melts into being held and enjoys calm physical contact, showing a wonderful off-switch despite having plenty of playful energy. As she became more comfortable throughout the evaluation, her personality continued to blossom, revealing a happy, confident puppy who enjoys engaging with both people and her environment. She has a beautiful balance of enthusiasm, resilience, and affection that makes her a very well-rounded companion.
Best Fit for Hedge
Hedge would thrive in a family looking for a puppy that loves being close to her people and enjoys participating in everyday life. She would do especially well with owners who use positive reinforcement and enjoy building a close bond through training and shared experiences. Her affectionate nature, strong human focus, and willingness to work through new situations make her an excellent fit for families, first-time dog owners, or anyone looking for a loyal companion that wants to be involved in everything.
May Not be the Best Fit for Hedge
Hedge may not be the best fit for someone looking for an extremely independent puppy that naturally prefers doing her own thing. While she is capable of working through challenges, she clearly enjoys the reassurance and partnership of her person. Homes that appreciate a dog who wants to be close, enjoys affection, and values human interaction will likely bring out the very best in her personality.
