A Bit About Trellis
Trellis is a thoughtful, observant girl who likes to take in her surroundings before fully jumping in. She entered the evaluation with her tail held high, confidently exploring the test area and taking time to investigate everything around her before approaching the tester on her own. Rather than rushing into new situations, she’s the type of puppy who likes to gather information first, which gives her a very intentional and balanced personality.

As the evaluation continued, Trellis showed that while she can be a little unsure in brand-new environments, she works through that uncertainty beautifully. She found comfort in both the tester and the neutral helper dog, often checking back in before venturing out to explore again. Her confidence steadily grew throughout the test, and by the end she was much more relaxed, playful, and willing to engage. She’s a puppy that blossoms with reassurance and gains confidence through positive experiences.

Trellis has a nice balance of independence and connection. She enjoys exploring on her own but also likes having her person nearby as a safe home base. Once she feels secure, her bubbly, happy personality really shines through. She has a moderate energy level, good resilience, and a calm, thoughtful approach to learning, making her an enjoyable puppy to live and train with.
Best Fit for Trellis
Trellis would thrive with a family that enjoys building a relationship with their dog and giving them time to settle into new situations. She would do wonderfully in a home that uses positive reinforcement and appreciates watching a puppy grow in confidence. She has the potential to be an incredibly loyal companion who forms deep bonds with her people and will likely become more outgoing as she matures. She’d fit beautifully with families, couples, or individuals looking for a well-rounded companion that’s affectionate without being overly demanding.
May Not be the Best Fit for Trellis
Trellis may not be the ideal fit for someone expecting a puppy that’s instantly bold and ready to tackle every new experience without hesitation. While she’s not fearful, she does appreciate having a little time to process unfamiliar environments before fully diving in. Families who can be patient during those first few weeks and allow her confidence to build naturally will be rewarded with a happy, playful, and devoted companion.
