A Bit About Bushel

Bushel is a very people-oriented, affectionate boy who immediately wanted to connect with his tester. He crawled right into her lap, gave kisses, and clearly found a lot of reassurance in human interaction. His human focus was one of his strongest traits, and he seems to be the kind of puppy who naturally wants to stay close to his person and be part of whatever they’re doing. He’s also quite tenderhearted, so that human connection is especially important to him when he’s unsure.

In a new environment, Bushel did show some nerves. There was some mild panting and whining throughout the evaluation, and it was clear that the unfamiliar surroundings were a little stressful for him. That said, I really liked that he didn’t let those nerves stop him. Even though he wasn’t completely comfortable (which is totally normal for a puppy in new surroundings) he continued through the test and bravely attempted everything that was asked of him. He also used the people and dog around him for reassurance, which tells me he has a nice ability to look to his people when he needs a little confidence boost.

Overall, Bushel is more of a balanced-to-lower energy boy with a sweet, softer personality. He isn’t going to be the puppy who bursts into a new room and immediately owns it, but once he has time to settle in, he’ll show much more of his fun, playful personality. He has good motivation, solid resilience, excellent human focus, and a nice willingness to work with his person. I’d expect him to do best with a little patience during transitions and then really blossom once he feels secure.

Best Fit for Bushel

Bushel would be a great fit for a family looking for a sweet, affectionate, people-focused companion rather than an extremely bold or high-energy puppy. He’d likely thrive with people who are willing to give him a little time to adjust to new places and experiences without pushing him too quickly. A home that values connection, cuddling, positive reinforcement, and allowing a puppy to build confidence at his own pace would suit him really well. Once he knows his people and his surroundings, I think his playful and loving personality will really shine.

May Not be the Best Fit for Bushel

Bushel may not be the best fit for a home looking for an immediately confident, extremely adventurous, go-anywhere-and-do-anything puppy. His initial response to new environments is more thoughtful and sensitive, and he may need some reassurance before he feels completely comfortable. He also isn’t one of the higher-energy puppies, so a family wanting a nonstop hiking, running, or high-drive training partner may be better matched with a puppy who has more intensity and environmental confidence.
